My buddy Joe Jackson, the same guy who fixes 944/951/968 cruise control brains, is the guy who designed these. I now have a set in black powder coat, and I will never have to fix another one of these. They really do look great ... I don't think he could make them for the price the dealer sells the plastic ones for.
Coupe Sunvisor fix: For the other side try pulling the shaft out of the visor, gluing a very thin piece of aluminum flashing to the flat face, filing said sheeting to the exact shape and profile you want, and reinstalling for a nice tight fit. I just did this on my second 968 and it works great. In order to get the shaft out just line up the line in the shaft with the axis of the visor.
I can take a couple of quick pics if folks are interested.

The look great and I think you should keep the car... I've seen it, and it's a very nice example.
I'll shoot some pics and throw them up tomorrow. It's a simple fix and works very well.

I love the 51 as well but I'd miss the style of the 68. If $$ permits, keeping both is ideal.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

I've been fighting issues with the bus (1997 Tahoe) tonight, so the pics went to the bottom of the list. Will likely have to wait until Monday as duty calls for the next few days. I'll get them up though.

I apologize for being a little late, but as promised here are some pics of my loose visor solution.
1. Go to a store to buy some aluminum flashing.
2. Remove visor
3. Align mark with seam as shown in pic and remove shaft
4. Cut 30mm x 6mm piece of flashing
5. Affix with superglue or some sort of adhesive. I used the brush on type since it's much easier to control the amount used. It doesn't take much as you're getting a tight fit. Make sure the contact area is clean.
6. File to fit. Just clean up the sharp edges or you will cause excess wear inside of the visor.
7. reinsert
8. Reinstall visor, and enjoy the fact that it is tight against the headliner...
Note the stainless visor clip in powdercoated black... Oh, and the strange looking sunroof. The Saratoga roof is now safe in it's bag in storage. I got a factory roof repainted and it is much more to my liking.

Yep, 10 minutes. Works great. Thanks Joel!
I only did the passenger's side to see how it worked, and then moved on to my idle control valve (other post).
Not a bad weekend. Better idle, droopless visor, and all of my leaves are in bags by the curb.
Now just 40 minutes to the Eagles Cowboys game for 1st place in the NFC East.
Perfectamundo!
