Need Storage Compartment Key
#1

I'm lookin for a key (blank preferably but not necessary) to the storage compartments behind the seats in a cab. I recently bought a 94 cab that did not come with the keys and one is locked. If I get a key I may be able to have the locks rekeyed to work with the new key.

Please let me know what you have. Thanks.

Take the lock off the door that opens to a lock smith. They'll hook you up with a replacement key. Easy to remove - just unscrew the nut on the inside of the door.

Thanks for the reply, I thought of doing that but was not sure how common the key blank was.

Good luck, but I had no luck with locksmiths and had to buy two complete lock assemblies--$108 in 1995.

Finally got the lock issue taken care of. Took the lock to the local locksmith, he was able to make a key for it. The trick was to remove a small pin in the cylinder that once removed allows him to get to the tumblers...then it was a piece of cake. Total cost was $24.

The lock smith used an iLco P05 as the blank. I don't know what other blanks are compatible.
