need spark plug holder
#1

I stepped on it, *&%$##@$!!

Looks like individual leads are over $70 each! checked sunset, gaudin, sonnen online.

I thought someone said in the last few months that a new set of 4 was much less than $300 here in the States?

Is it easy to just replace this plastic end (no special crimper required?) if I can find a used one?

Thanks

Aha! thats the ticket, thanks, $132 for a full set from paragon

On closer inspection of paragons picture, and comments by others, it looks like the coil wire has a single 90 degree end instead of the double 90 original to our cars.

Is it no longer possible to get the double 90 as part of a bosch #09151 ignition wire set?

You can buy the parts from a beru dealer, they all just screw together

http://www.beruparts.com/

on this page

$23 each

these are the crimp on threaded ends for the cables

100 for $70 you need ten to make a set of leads.

these are the distributor ends

http://www.beruparts.com/product.sc?prod...egoryId=12

$5 each

you can make up a set of leads quite cheap.

I just picked up the ends at Kingsborne in San Marcos, and a set of 7mm universal wires. The whole setup should be done for under 50 bucks. The crimp ends are about a buck each if you get them directly from Kingsborne.

MCL and Waylander - this is what i would like to do, but the specialized crimp tool is expensive.

MCL, how did u crimp the ends?

i already ordered a full set from paragon, but disappointed that the coil wire apparently will only have a 90 degree connector on one end. Might be enough wire to recrimp the straight end with a elbow from kingsbourne?

Thanks

I only crimp the connector in the center, and I seal the sleeve of the M3 connector with silicon RTV. That makes it more water tight, and eliminates the possibility of ruining the connector by overzealous crimping. The center can be crimped with a plain wire crimper if you use restraint.

If you ordered a set from Paragon, you should be able to just unscrew the M3 connector from the straight end and simply change the end to a 90 degree unit.

Jason at paragon replied that the stock photo on the website is incorrect. The set will be like the originals

I received the plug wire set from paragon and unfortunately it's exactly as pictured on their website. The coil wire has a 90° at only one hand, the wires are gray not black. So I guess kingsborn is the way to go if you want to build a set that are just like originals.

(Or in some other cool color)

I have a bag of the connectors left if anyone out there wants to try making their own wires.
