Saw a guy in Riverside who put 6X9s in his Cab cubbies with the grills facing up. I thought of that as a logical (and easy) place to put some decent speakers. Any one tried that or heard it in a cab?

Biggest problem is getting that area sealed. Do a search here...there are a couple who've done it. Flash did it "right" but of course, it wasn't "easy". I opted for slim depth Kenwood models that I have tucked behind the seats for now but hope to fabricate a bracket to hang them over the edge of the cubbies. It will retain the use of them, which most people sacrifice when putting woofers there.

I recalled that flash put twin subs in that area, and built a box to replace the cuddies - agree that was not an easy mod. The car I saw simply had 6X9s stuck in the top of the existing cuddy, like the rear deck of a sedan.

rexter you can get foam speaker baffels from crutchfield for the 6x9's and you will still be able to use the cubbies, I used them behind the 4x6's in my cab and lost the use of the cubbies because of a molded fiberglass enclosure inside the cubbies for two 10"s, sure do miss the space but the sound makes up for it.

i want to replace my mdf with fiberglass.



if/when i do i'll have an enclosure for sale for 2 10s and 2 6 1/2s
