Harsh realization for a large-framed man...!
#1

Well, while stopping in at Pete's to check on the 968, he let me sit in someone's '68 with racing buckets. Let's just say the thigh bolsters were not very nice to my thighs. That pretty much crushes my dream of getting either original 968 CS seats or Recaro Pole Positions one day. I can tell from photos that the CS/PP seats are even more narrow than those in that car.

I think I almost shed a tear.... I'm not terribly huge (5-11 with shoes, about 215-220 lbs), but got big thighs. So the racing buckets I want are going to be a no-go. Wasn't going to race anyway- just like the look.

Please bow your heads in a moment of silence for my dream...

I think they make some of the seats in different sizes.

Perhaps another alternative is 951 sport seats?

I have some nice factory 951 sport seats I will be listing soon.

Bio, I have sat in Flash's Recaro Sportlines and they were very comfortable for my fat *&% and I weight more than you. Do a search on Recaros and you can see pictures. My goal is to have a set of those. They will look great in a Adventurine Green car.

I'm 5'10 and used to weigh 230 lbs so I know how big your thighs are (or I have an idea). Now I weigh 200 or so and I'm still dropping some, but it's slowing down. You can do it! You can have your seats, plus it's weight reduction!

Even with the regular seats my wallet drives me crazy. Not bad without the wallet. 6-2 / 210.
