More love for our funny little cars...
#1

We are in some pretty heady company here, the Veyron and the Bronco II!

Appropriate they should call these Zombie cars given the mere hours to Halloween.

I wouldnt exactly agree that what was said in the article about our cars qualifies as love... "ugly, underpowered..an engine that would be smoked off the line by any Mazda on this list. The buy-in price on one of these is low, but it's the bargain-basement Porsche of some driver's dreams"

Pretty low praise IMHO

LOL

Regretfully it appears Yahoo does not have a drug testing policy applicable to its contributors / columnists .

"In the 968's case, it's the fact that it's ugly, underpowered and tagged with the Porsche emblem. It looks as if someone sawed a Porsche 944 and 928 in half and slapped the rear end of the former onto the front of the latter."

What an insult. I have my two attorneys, Tony and Tony from Chicago looking into whether these comments are coming from Wikileak via Putin.LOL

Is this writer for real?

Here is a quote from David Colman in the October issue of Excellence:
"First of all a full quarter after its introduction it remains a surprisingly beautiful sports car especially in Cabriolet form"

Shame on that writer and I hope he quits smoking that weird stuff.

The whole article was full of stupid and uninformed comments. It would be easy to write this off as the result of chemical influences, but I think the problem is the writer simply has no idea what he is talking about. The 924 is much more "Zombiesque" than the 968 will ever be. While I agree with the comments about the Bronco II (driving one on the freeway was always a near-death experience for me), he missed the mark on most of the rest.

Lol - figures

I'll echo most of the review though. I also think it is a hodge-pudge as far as body design goes. I never liked the body lines. I often thought about completely redoing the body to correct the reverse curve on the rear quarters, smooth out the hard edges running down the sides, and getting rid of those dumb body gaskets. A targa top would be cool too. I definitely think it is grossly underpowered. Fortunately i was able to resolve the latter. I just never got around to any of the rest.

As it goes " beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"......To this day I still think it is the most beautifully designed car by Harm Lagaiij especially in Cabriolet form.
If you call "underpowered" 0-60 in under 6.....Then I think the Pope is Protestant (LOL)

Flash, your credibility re the body lines / aesthetics of any given car has dropped to a level far below zero after purchasing a 911 .

Secondly, you're in Cabo ?! Better get back here quickly before next Tuesday ; Trump predicts a landslide in his favor and that border wall will be erected faster than Anthony Weiner's wiener while texting an underage girl ..so you may have to sneak back in via one of the El Chapo tunnels . Just sayin' , lol.

As for the 968, it's roughly in the same " most beautiful of all time " league as the Dino, the DB9 , the Z8, or the Jag E .

Just read this article. Some of the cars belong on that list, (bronco ii), but the 968 certainly doesn't. Maybe something like a roof-swallowing Porsche Targa could make this list in a few years when those "wings" start failing. :-)
