list of relays
#1

Does anyone have a complete list of the correct Porsche part #s for all of the relays in the fuse box under the hood? I'm asking because my A/C isn't working so I replaced the original GREEN relay, part # 964 615 215 00 with one that I purchased. The part # on the new relay is 944 615 113 01, it is black and twice as tall as the original. The box it came in is marked A/C relay and I was told it is the correct relay. Best of all IT WORKS and so does my A/C. Now is it correct and will it hurt something if it isn't correct eventhough it works. Also, the bottom contacts are not the same(the 944 relay has an additional smaller contact) and the schematics printed on the relays are slighty different.

I have performed searches on both sites but found nothing so any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Carl

It looks like the 964 part number is correct. Attached is a list of relays and part numbers.

I notice the above attachment is currently a lost artifact. Any chance someone has this list and can repost it?

Thanks!

OK, legit question. I swear.

Turned on headlights, lights went up, lights were on. Turned off lights, lights went out, left lamp went down, but right lamp didn't go down. Now right light won't come on either. Left lamp operates as it should. All other lights also work as they should, including both highbeams.

Fuse 2 had a 30A fuse in it, not the prescribed 25A fuse. Fuse wasn't blown, but maybe made motor blow up?

Fuse 21 was fine, so light should be on.

Could these be linked, or just coincidence?

well..

this stuff is usually pretty simple.

first, the down motion could easily be bind up from corrosion. get yourself a can of tri-flow and lube up the mechanism armatures.

then pull the relays and fuses and clean the contacts of the fuses, relays, and sockets into which they go.

if after that, then it's time to investigate things.

I had something similar happen last year. I had washed the car and went for a drive. On my return later in the evening, one of the headlights would not drop down. The next day everything went back to normal and it has not happened again. I decided that it was probably a drop of water that got into one of the contacts. Maybe I should go and take a look at the contacts to make sure they are not slowly corroding...

Let us know if your 968 had any water splashed on it just before this happened...

No rain for a couple days before the incident, no splashage.

Still up.

No time to deal with it for now, so... Turned on the lights, pulled the fuse and running with both up for now...... and I kinda like it!
