Milestone
#1

Happened to look down at the odometer last night on the way home from work and saw this!

Pulled over to take the picture.

I'm responsible for all but 20K of these over the last 15 years.
Have enjoyed every one of them (with the exception of a few snow events...and the 0.1 miles after my water pump seized...)

I'm planning to get another hundred out of this car at a minimum!

Thanks for the picture! It is really encouraging to see mileage postings far above my current mileage (~85,000).
As a "less than one year" 968 owner, sometimes I get a bit "worried" when you see all the posts about "issues" that can come at you because of the age of our cars. I realize that good maintenance is the key to "968 prolonged happiness", so the "issue" postings are also very much appreciated!
HAPPY continued motoring!

Congratulations! Are you on your original head gasket? Rod bearings? Have you done a compression test recently? Iin any event, your experience is a testament to the longevity of these cars, and why I say concern over mileage, if the car is well maintained, is way overblown.

Nice catch Jamie. Glad you were able to enjoy the moment safely (instead of fumbling for the phone whilst roaring down the freeway etc). Congrats!

Great work, Jamie! We still need to connect sometime. Until then, keep it smooth!

Thanks everybody!

Yes, Cloud, I'm still on my original rod bearings and head gasket.
My compression was unreasonably good the last time it was checked, and was likely skewed higher by carbon build-up.
I have since had a run-rite treatment, but haven't checked the compression since.

Pete always tells me that my car runs extremely well, especially considering the mileage, but maybe he's just being nice because he knows how crazy I am about this car.

Amazingly, I'm also on my original clutch Yes it's true.

Scott, I may be at RS Barn next week to have my A/C fixed (long story). Maybe you can stop by for lunch.
