Airbag Light reset
#1

Hello all,
I have an air bag light that has been staring me in the face for a while now after disconnecting the battery. Does anyone know where I can go to get it reset here around the Lancaster CA area? Is it worth getting the special tool to do it myself? I'm sure I will be disconnecting the battery several times in the not to distant future.

if you can't find one local...try:
Durametric

Of course, you want to try to find out why it is on....

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to go ahead and get the durametric kit for my car so I can do this anytime I need to. Should also tell me why the light is on. Hope there is nothing wrong with the air bag system (fingers crossed).

re: Duratec; I recently contacted them because I was curious about the increased price for the 68 kit vs other kits. Their answer was the kit comes with an additional cable adapter that fits the special 68 diag. connector. His selling point was you can use the primary cable on later 911's etc. I haven't taken a poll, but I 'd bet there are very few 68 owner's that also have a later 911. What I don't understand is why they don't just make a cable up for 68's and ask the same price as all the other kits[?].
Just a thought...

i have not seen the duratec - where is that?

i have the durametric, and there is no specific model connector - instead, there is a pin out cable that you just plug in pin by pin - it did come with a 968 pin-out diagram

My bad.. I meant Durametric, [I really need to limit my beer intake..]
Here's the page:
Durametric Kits

As you'll notice the 68 kit is ~$60 more...

ah - got it - i thought maybe there was another gadget out there - no worries

i apparently have the older kit that needs no special connector and is not limited to 3 cars
