Welcome to the Forums. Lot's of us further north use the RS Barn, in Newtown, PA. But that might be a bit far for you to drive, unless you want to experience our winter wonderland.

Here's a link in case you want to give them a call: www.rsbarn.com

Maybe someone a bit closer to you will chime in with a referral. Or if you decide to DIY, you will find lots of info here and plenty of help from this group of enthusiasts. I've done it a couple of times now, and the toughest part is the oil seals around the balance shafts and crank. Those are the "while you are in there" jobs.

Best of luck!

Not aware of any shops in Pinehurst, there are a few good ones in Charlotte, and the dealer in Fayetteville is suppose to be pretty good, they have actual mechanics that go back to 70's.

My first 944 was originally owned by a Golf Pro from Pinehurst.

I would love to be teeing it up at Pinehurst right about now. You would have to move a lot of snow to find any golf courses here!
