I got a great deal on a 968 engine and am planning to stick it in a 924S. The cams and chain looks very good and it has new bearings. It looks like it was pulled from a 944, so I don't think it will be to hard to install. I also have the 968 harness and ECU.

Maybe questions on cooling?

Hey JimBob,

Sounds like a pretty big project, but any part of a 968 is better than nopart of a 968 <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Good Luck,

Jay

Holy cow, that does sound like a project. Are you somehow able to run the stock DME when you do such a thing?

Jimbob,

Given that the 924 weighs much less than the 968 (from memory, around 200kg less), it sounds like you will have an absolute weapon of a car. How the transaxle bolts up might be an issue, but being a 924S, hopefully less so.

Good luck, and keep us informed of the progress and outcomes. There is lots of great info here and knowledgable people to ask questions of. Who knows, you might end up supercharging the engine and have something of a wolf on steroids in sheep's clothing.

Yeah, a Stage 3 supercharged 924S would be cool. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.png" class="smilie" alt="" />
