M030 Delrin Sway Bar Bushing Modification
#1

i finally got around to putting this DIY together - many want the delrin bushings, but are concerned about noise - this modification addresses that, and more

i do not recommend delrin bushings for a commuter car, or one which sees less than frequent close inspection - also, they are much harsher when it comes to impact transmitted to the steering wheel from bumps in the road - to be clear, this is a race component that must be kept relatively clean

if you have leaks, this modification should not be done until they are resolved - the fluids will deteriorate the grease, and wear out the bushings

all that being said, if you take care of them, these bushings will really improve handling

here it is:

Bob, how about a pair of split metal clamp bushes around the anti roll bar on the inside edge of the delrin bushes to help stop the bar walking thru the bushes?

No Bob, as well as uprated clamping brackets which I understand for strength porpoises Also a split clamp bush directly onto the anti roll bar on the inside edge of and butted up against the shoulder of the delrin bushes to prevent lateral movement ah ha!

look at the pic on the third page of the instructions. you will see a shaft collar. it is there to prevent lateral movement.

Looks like a nice mod, thanks. Are the collars something that's readily available at the local hardware store?

The collars are widely available, but don't know about your local store. I got a couple of different sizes from McMaster Carr...
