Looking for a dark blue steering wheel
#1

My steering wheel is deteriorating really fast... When the weather is humid, it starts decomposing in my hands. I looked on Ebay and the only one I found had the airbag with it, which I don't need and was over 200 dollars which is too much for me. Does anyone know where I can find one of them that's in good condition? Thank you.

I don't think I've ever seen a dark blue wheel for sale...they will be few and far between. I've seen dark blue air bags pop up every now and then and 200.00 for an entire assembly seems a pretty good price. You may want to consider recovering the one you have...not sure it'd be any cheaper but you'd probably end up with a nicer end result. AGLA does Porsche wheels in OEM colors and will even provide a loaner wheel if desired. Google around and see what turns up.

thanks Darryl... well I didn't know those things could be "recovered". What do they do to it? Where would I go for that?

Believe it or not, I have one! Send me a PM and I can send you pics. It also has wear on the top, but it is not falling apart. I was getting to list it on Craigslist.

spin and 968Z...remember there are two different dark blue interiors - Marine Blue and Midnight Blue. Then again, there is a completely different Cobalt Blue. I'm fairly certain Marine was 92-93 and Midnight was 94-95. It would suck to find a blue wheel and have it be the wrong blue. I had that happen with a cabriolet sunvisor brand new in box, but it is Cobalt Blue and my interior is Marine Blue. I still have it in case anyone ever needs a Cobalt Blue Cabriolet sunvisor!!

Iris Blue is your exterior...you'll need to figure out which interior. Being a 94, and dark blue, it'll most likely be the Midnight Blue. Cobalt is a much "blue-er" blue. Hopefully 968Z has what you need!!

Ok so 968Z sent me pictures of his wheel and the interior of his car and he thinks it's the same color as mine. However I think his wheel is a little darker and has more purple in it than mine. We are having trouble deciding if it's the same color or not so I decided to post 2 pictures from 968Z's car and one of mine, so if anyone has an opinion about this, please help! Thanks

The first two pictures (top left and right) are Mark's car and steering wheel and the last photo (bottom left) is my steering wheel.

Check the options sticker, to know for sure what color you have.

968Z doesn't have the car anymore but he told me it was a '95 Polar Silver Cab. So I guess there is no way of knowing from a sticker if he doesn't have his car anymore... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

The top left photo of the wheel alone is Cobalt Blue. The Top right photo of the woodgrained handle Tip Car appears to be the same color as the bottom left car and I'm going with Midnight Blue. Since they are both Deviating blue/gray interiors, yes, in fact you should be able to compare option code stickers. The interior code is the two digit letter/number combo to the right of the paint code.

FWIW, my 92 Marine Blue interior is much darker and commonly referred to as Navy it's so dark.

Id find out what color you have by checking the sticker any way. Even if you get it recovered, youll know what color to do it in.

The top left and right are the same wheel... Like I said, the seller doesn't have his car anymore so we can't compare stickers. Ughh this is so hard!!

See if the seller has the VIN to his old car still. If he does, Shoot Jeff a PM and give him your vin and the sellers VIN. Jeff would be able to tell you if they are the same color based on the VIN's you provide him.
