I received the "Original Porsche 968" book last week and have already read it cover-to-cover. Lots of great pics and useful info.

I received my Speed Yellow Coupe with the TechArt front splitter in the attached picture. However, Raj was kind enough to sell me a Porsche Genuine Turbo S front splitter.

I have a set of Porsche Speedster seats that I will have painted with the new front splitter. I'll end up with a bit of a "bastard" 968. Kind of a cross between a Turbo S (splitter and wing), Club Sport (seats and steering wheel) and Sport model (e.g., all the comfort amenities with the M030/LSD options).

I drove the 968 back-to-back today with my 964 Speedster. The Speedster is a fantastic 911 (and evidently a real "head turner" from how many thumbs-up I received). That withstanding, the 968 was a more enjoyable drive.

I've had the opportunity to drive some fab sports cars. Still, Porsches are my favorite. New Porsche cars are great, but have a disappointing "plasticy/lease car" type of feel to them. Nothing that seems to make me want to buy the car and own it for 20+ years.

However, the air cooled 911s and 968s are a different story. The longer you have them, the more attached you get.

To me, the 968 is very easy to drive, yet still intoxicatingly involving. There are probably many of you who feel the same. So I'm preaching to the choir.

On another note. I'm thinking of mounting the rims in the attached pictures above. Having the M030, will the car handle 18" wheels? Any help would be appreciated.

I would sell those you should get some pretty good coin... Buy the Speedline Turbo S wheels. You can find knock offs but the OEM wheels will have the same etching Speedline for Porsche. They are rare but I see them pop up often they were also used on the 964's so they are out there.

BTW great looking car!
