Does anyone know if there are any 968 related events scheduled for the West Coast?

welcome Chris!
There are a bunch of us in California, a couple months ago we had a funrun to Paso Robles, toured a winery, and had a great time.
Stay tuned to the forums. Oh, and like Joe said there's a run happening Monday. I won't be able to make that one though.

oh damn dude you're in Oakland?
I'm in Alameda - let's keep in touch. A bunch of us SF bay area dudes get together and wrench from time to time.

[quote name='porsche' date='May 28 2006, 11:07 PM']I'm planning on having my 95 M030 Coupe at the Parade and would really love to see at least 25 968s present.
Porsche
PS. Please excuse the dirty wheels, I haven't had a chance to wash.

So that's what it looks like! Sorry we were not able to get together...just flat ran out of time! I'll be down again.
But you can count me in for 2007 Parade with my road warrior , which should have over 200K miles on the odo by then. Not as pretty as she used to be, but always a beauty in my eyes. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Make that four 968s. No way I'd miss that! Its a hop skip and jump from Sacramento.
[quote name='porsche' date='May 29 2006, 01:17 PM']So that's already 3 968s (e.g., my 95, Flash's Cab and Ren's car).

We'll be there, providing we get accepted into the Parade next year. With it being in SoCal, if past history is any indicator, it will sell out quickly.

[quote name='josephsc' date='May 27 2006, 12:05 AM']First of all -- welcome!
There are a handful of NorCal 968ers on this board, and a strong presence of 924/944/968 owners on Rennlist. Mostly 944's, but there is a run being planned for Memorial Day:
Rennlist Norcal run. I'm not sure if I'll be taking the 968 or the 944....

Hey,
Thanks for the responses. Actually, I live in Alameda. Missed yesterday's event. Memorial Day is my day to get together with a few of my fellow veterans and drink a toast to absent friends.
I will be going to Infineon this coming week end for the vintage races. Sunday for sure and possibly Saturday as well.
I've been spending a fair bit of time up in Healdsburg, found some outstanding wineries if anyone is interested, I'll let you know when I'm headed up again.
The Porsche Parade in San Diego sounds good, although my car is not a show piece. It has been my daily driver for the 10 years that I have owned it so it has that certain "patina" that most well used cars carry.
BTW I see two 968's pretty routinely in Alameda, one is a similar blue to mine and the other one is Guards Red.
Regards, Chris

Not to worry if your car is not concours condition. Parade is about getting together with like-minded people, enjoying auto-x, tours, rallies, social events, etc. Concours is just the highest-profile part of it, but is only part of Parade.
