Race tape,

Wipes/Cloths of some description

Compressor (small one - to adjust your tyre pressures)

Accurate Pressure Guage

(if you want to check how well your alignment/wheel set-up is working) - IR Thermometer

Spare race numbers

Do you need to cover the front lights? - Mine have a permanent film on them

Do you need an additional form of front bonnet restraint (if so, a spare would be good)

Block of wood (don't park with the handbrake on or the brakes on after a run), put the car in gear and place a block of wood behind the tyre (assuming the area is not level)

Jack of some description and stands (if you want to work on the car)

Fuel and fuel funnel (assuming you will run the car with a light fuel load and refuel)

Fire Extinguisher

Fuses

I always thought people used trailers to pull their cars to and from the track. Now I see their real purpose - to store all the stuff you need to bring with you!

Flash, your right, I have a most of the tools etc, as Cloud9...68 raised, I have one of those mobile garages as I call them, even carry a scooter (lazy).

Looking for anything specific to the 968.

Plug wires and fuses are good.

Didn't know if people carried, things like water pump, fuel pump, alternator, axle and CV joints, etc.

What are common things that break? But guess it will always be the one thing you don't have <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I am lazy, if something beyond basic troubleshooting breaks, the car goes back onto the trailer and either goes home or to the mechanics. Not sure how much you could change on the day at the track. If you are going to be doing major work like this, I would add into the trailer some of those absorbant pads for the coolant, oil, etc which will inevitably leak everywhere.

In four year of club motorsport I have had the water pump fail (after it was replaced as it was faulty), the clutch (x2) and that is about it. Car has been very reliable (now hopefully I have not jinxed myself). I was having to monitor oil usage, but hopefully with the engine rebuild this problem will decrease.

I will carry belts, etc and the tensioning turnbuckles for the alternator and AC unit, radiator hoses, etc.

If you haven't replaced it recently I'd put a heater control valve on the list. The two sides are known to seperate with age and heat. Then you're left with coolant spraying everywhere.

Actually, if you haven't replaced it recently (or don't know when it was done) I'd change it out as a preventative measure.

Only thing I'd add on the parts list is a set of front rotors. I'm thinking about putting a set in the motorhome. But in two seasons having gone through 4 sets of pads the rotors are still looking good. Got a little heat cracking but they don't go all the way across the face so I've got about 1 season left (hence, getting a spare set just in case)
