Lifetime warranty? What?
#1

What do you guys make of this? Some sort of not useful limited warranty? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/huh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

They make it sound like this is a factory warranty....but that can't be, can it?

be VERY careful of that dealer - i had a very bad experience with them - the warranty was one of the items that was an issue

i was seriously looking at a car from them - had a deposit down on it and everything - they were changing parts as i was trying to buy it (wheels, etc) - also the warranty was a third party warranty from a different company out of state, that ended up going out of business before i could even buy the car - also, it would not have been valid in caifornia

took me forever to get my deposit back too

When it breaks that part's lifetime is over and not covered any longer. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I think that car is worth a look though, assuming a strong PPI is done

i don't know anything about the car at all, and certainly wasn't implying anything about it - could be a great one - it's the "dealership" that gives me the heebie jeebies

I had a third party warranty on a car several years ago. I picked up after the manufactors warranty ran out. By the time the manufactors warranty ran out, the company was out of business.

pretty typical story - being in the insurance business, you know the secret to success on that one - a lot of fly-by-night companies out there that get in, make some money, and then get out before they have to pay claims

in the end, what did you save anyway? they almost always seem to find a way to get out of paying the claim

we really looked into this when we bought the car - we carefully read all of the policies offered - all of them had loopholes big enough for the carrier to slip though on pretty much any claim - we determined that we would end up getting stuck for the bill anyway, so we decided not to purchase it - the car ended up not neding anything that would have been covered, and of the 3 companies that we looked at, none of them are in business anymore - looks like we made the right decision

now if a major carrier started offering one of these policies, then perhaps it would be a worthwhile thing - to my knowledge though, they don't
