K prototype ?
#1

I have no idea what car this is, what the " K " stands for , if it's a prototype or an actual limited production car, or an amazing kit car, or maybe just an artist's rendering of a concept car, or whatever else.. but this has to be one of the most beautiful , absolutely drop-dead gorgeous automobiles I've ever seen. Anyone know what this may be ? The rear end is reminiscent of the classic Jaguar E-type, ( and not too far off a BMW Z 8 either..) but the hatchback also damn close to a Jaguar F coupe's style, the wheels are classic Jag as well, too bad I have no photo of the front.

The wire wheels (knock-off style, no less) are interesting - no new car would come with them, as they'r way too heavy. And yet, while the car definitely has classic cues, as you mention, it looks quite modern, if for no other reason than the large diameter, low profile tires. Agreed - it's a beautiful car. My guess is that it's a modern, high tech version of someone's fantasy doodle of their dream car.

Wow the K car has come a long way since the early 80's.

I found out late last night : it's from a company in the UK , called Lyonheart. They make this car in collaboration with Jaguar and they indicate it's inspired by the E-type. Much of it hand built, of course, all carbon fiber and aluminum, best in class coachmanship leather, wood and CF interior, 550 HP, sub 4 sec. 0-60, top speed ( limited to ) 300 km/ hr ...and a hefty price to match : starting at a base of £ 350,000 What's that around $ 550,000 nowadays ? Ouch.

Just got a PM from one of our members also with the above info. € 495,000 base, Sheesh, it makes Flash' s $ 170,000 Targa seem like a bargain ! Lol

Although, on second thought, given that it's a collaboration with Jaguar, I'm sure it's based on an existing Jaguar model, like the F-Type. So, it seems as though they've taken a car with a capable but average-for-its-class chassis, an already beautiful body and richly-appointed interior, and outfitted it with a slightly-prettier body and snazzier interior, and quintupled the price. I'd be more excited about it if it were based on a car with a dowdy body, like say a Porsche Panamera, and turned it into something beautiful. The ugly-duckling-to-beautiful-swan thing, in other words. Beautiful as it is, it strikes me as something for people who use $100 bills for kindling.

Yup, that's what I thought as well - may be "worth" another $ 100 - $ 150 K for all the exclusive materials and stuff,, but that price is ridiculous.

All-aluminium chassis, every part is hand build apparently.

Lol, within a few years it will be, when ALL parts become NLA and we have to manufacture them ourselves.

With the upcoming easing of the Cuban embargo, maybe we could hire some Cuban mechanics to help us out:

Cool article, but maybe, in time, Porsche Classic remanufactures a bunch of parts. At reasonable prices of course. Doh!

Cubans it is!
