WTB Rear Wheel Hub, Stub Axle, Oil Pickup Tube
#1

I went to replace the rear wheel bearings on my 968 only to discover that the hub had decided to spin on the bearing at some point in time. Consequently, the hub is trashed and will need to be replaced too. Interestingly, the bearing itself did not appear damaged which makes me wonder if the bearing had been replaced once before and the hub was damaged before the last bearing.

Anyways the part I need is a rear wheel hub- p/n 944 331 067 01. I have a '94 968 but I believe late-944s and 968s all use the same hub. I am in a time crunch as I am borrowing my companies development area to do the work.

Looks like I need the stub axle too- p/n 951 332 235 35. This is the part with the splined shaft on one side that bolts to the drivaxle on the other. A small portion of this part sits on the bearing and it is out of tolerance as well.

And last but not least, I need an oil pickup tube- p/n 944 107 032 07 and possibly the oil return pipe as well- p/n 944 107 136 03. (Sucks because I have these parts on a spare engine I just bought but it is on a truck and won't be here for another week and a half and I have no choice to have the car running well before then.)

Hopefully someone will have some spares handy. If so, please contact me and let me know what you want for them!

Thanks,

Brett

There is a guy on ebay parting out a white 968 Cab... You should hit him up search 968 Porsche he has almost half of the listings in the search. He has been listing for the past week and said thathe will be parting out every single part.

Thanks guys but still no luck. I called a dismantler and they wanted $250 for the hub and stub axle which seemed like a lot of money. Especially considering these are the same parts as those on a late model 944 which are parted out all the time. I emailed the guy on ebay and he wouldn't/couldn't end the auctions early (still 2+ days) and he would only ship UPS ground. This would put me out until the middle of next week.

So still looking...
