Soon to be a new member in Texas
#1

I am in the process of  shopping for a 968. Currently a 991 owner and found myself spending most of my time at P-Car gatherings admiring the 968, so it's time to pull the trigger. Looking forward to contributing to the forum.

Dash and upper door trim is black, rest of the interior is tan. Has electric sport seats.

I am working thru option codes and have identified all except "718" ??

also, it has chrome 17" Cup wheels, I cannot find chrome as a factory option, was this done post-purchase?

option code 718 indicates a car that didnt sell during the year it was manufactured, and was "re - VIN'd" by the factory for sale as the next model year. This was apparently the case for many of the 968s.

In fact, my indie mechanic's 'conspiracy theory' (chuckle) based on info he heard and cars he saw during a tour of the factory (mid 90s?), is that they were all made very early in the model run, and then badged for sale year by year.

In any case, check the driver door badge for the date of manufacture. For your case, all 95s were made in 94 (or earlier?). The 718 code meant the car was sold as a 95 model year.

Im sure others will chime in with additional details, or perhaps corrections.

Chrome wheels were not a factory option...

Sounds like you found a good car.

I saw your 968 at the Nordstrom's Mav and Mochas event last week.  It is indeed a very nice car.  The wheels look nice in chrome but as is mentioned earlier, they were not available that way from the factory.

Enjoy your new ride.  You might look to join Mavs and Mochas on FB as well as North Texas 968 Advocates..

Congrats!
