I like Macallan scotch and usually opt for the smoky flavor of Macallan 12.  On occasion I have Macallan 21 year old scotch and once remarked "that's the second best 21-year old I have ever had" to which I received blank stares.  Never said it about the 12 or 15 year old.  hahaha

Yes, that’s just about as silly as it gets .  Not sure when it started, but I saw it as far back as 1970 when I moved here .  Never understood who would be lulled or lured by that concept .  And not to mention that you don’t even get your penny back, after you pay taxes on those  xxxx.99 items .   :glare:

That's actually a code for Costco. .99 items are regularly stocked, prices ending in 7 or 5 are closeout items, and numbers ending in 9 that are not .99 are special deals or seasonal.

 

And you thought Porsche was the only company with special numeric codes!

 

Do you suppose that after the Covid restrictions are lifted Costco will be offering samples of the Macallan?
