Quote:As far as i know i wil not work that way , the idle conrole valve wil control the amount of air , no matter what you do it wil sink back to the idle measured and controlled by the ecu together with the idle control valve .
I did it before , more than once, and it does keep the idle where you set it manually, overriding the ICV. Except at the minimum / lowest level setting where the lever touches the base plate where the knob is mounted . But it’s been so many years I forgot the direction . Logic would dictate counter clockwise is what lifts that threaded knob and considering the throttle lever rests on it at idle , that’s for the rpm increase . But sometimes these cars have reverse screws , so what may seem logical doesn’t always apply .
I tried it , thinking I’ll just turn it one way , and if that’s not the direction for increasing the rpm, then it’s the other .. problem is that out of the 20 + pliers I have, including a vice grip pliers , none can get a good enough grip on that knob to turn it at all .. not sure what I used the previous times I did this, bit it must have been just the right kind of pliers or vice ones . There is very little space to fit anything in there to begin with , and that knob is so low to the base, you have less than 2 or 3 mm to grip ..
