I can appreciate this site even more now
#1

I went on a Subaru owners forum (a model that starts with the letter "i") to ask a question about my son's car. Not only were half the responses not helpful, but they were condescending and borderline rude. On here, I can ask a question out of ignorance and get advice without being belittled. I appreciated that before, and even more now.

Common civility Jay , so that should have been PLEASE shut up !!! Lol Back to other forums : the MBZ forum I checked for some technical answers seemed to be very civilized as well, but when I looked for some info on a Nissan forum which also happened to be shared by owners of a few other Japanese brands ( Honda , in particular ) I was horrified by not only the frequency of hostile comments hurled by posters at one another, but the insults were taken to levels I could not even imagine... Not sure that forum has any moderators, but even more disturbing is that I was left with a really poor impression of the demographic of Honda and Nissan owners in spite of the fact that I do realize that the participants may have been nothing more than just be a very vocal minority of those owners.. Naah, they're probably all a-holes :-) :-).

If it weren't for this forum, what I've learned here and who I've met, I probably would have given up on this car out of ignorance and frustration over the work it's needed since I bought it two years ago. The positive attitudes, helpfulness and knowledge of all you guys (and gals) on 968forums has been great and I look forward to many more years of hanging around here!

Oh Jay, I am so disappointed in you. Somewhere there is that 13 year old 968 enthusiast reading this thread. Of course he is paying particular attention to your words due to the two bitchin babes sprawled over the hood of your car! So this young, not fully developed mind is reading your reply, checking out your avatar, feeling strange stirrings that he is unfamiliar with and his Mother walks by and sees the shut up and the bitchin babes. She locks him off of this site , grounds him and sends him to his room. Future 968 er gone. Although he goes to his room still dreaming about the bitchin babes.

Those girls are almost completely covered, and the picture was edited by the girl on the left's Father, so I don't feel very guilty.

What could I do? They wanted to model Bikinis and fur with my Porsche...

I am clearly getting too old, because when I look at that picture, the first thing I see is the potential for four new elbow divots in the hood and fenders. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

I can also appreciate the potential hood damage tamathumper sees when looking at that photo, only what crossed my mind were four divots , the other two being larger hands imprints on either side of the girls elbows..

Jay, me thinks thou doth protesteth too much! Modeling bikinis completely covered. It's been a long time since you were 13. Don't you remember how almost nothing, including two fully covered babes sprawled out on the hood of a hot car just caused the imagination to run wild? And Dan thank god. That was probably you at the age of 13. Still there. Who says one has to grow up? Now mind you I've just read about this stuff. At 13, I was an altar boy doing an internship in Calcutta with Mother Thersa tending to lepers.
