I got my license at age 16. Passed the test on the first try. I recall a few things my Dad told me that day. One of note is "Dont go driving in DC, you don't have enough experience". DC has great shopping, clubs and restaurants and at that time they had the RFK stadium as well. 4 months later, I'm in DC. Pulling out from being parallel parked. After I got the nose of the car out, my eyes were only focused on what was coming from behind, as I was jumping out onto Independence ave into fast moving traffic. Saw a break in traffic, hit the gas and Scraaaaaaaaaaach! Ha, I remember that feeling I had. I swiped the car in front of me. No damage to his car, that big ol' buick was fine, but his bumper scrapped the paint at my rear quarter panel. Insurance wasn't called.
So I went from age 16 to 37 without ever receiving a moving violation. A clean driving record for over 20 years. Not bad huh?
However, last year I got a ticket in SC and now, I have a court date for a rolling stop at a stop sign. Sigh!
So how long till your first ticket?
BTW- I took a corner too fast at 19 and slid off the road into a gully. I had a driver rear end me, also in DC. and I received 2 warnings within that 20 year period. But ZERO tickets.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

Awkward, hope you never encounter that officer again.

Coincidentally, my last ticket was in Danville, VA, where Virginia International Raceway is, on my way to a track weekend the time I drove the Hyundai Sonata at the PCA event back in March!... LOL... After driving 7 hours, I get pulled over as I turned into the hotel parking garage at 2 AM. Speeding... He did not have any sympathy after I explained I was going to get abused showing up in a rental Hyundai with numbers on the side for a Porsche DE at VIR.... Luckily, in Danville, they will automatically reduce it to Defective Equip with a Speedo Calibration. Did not even have to show up in court...
PS: And by the way: The abuse did not last long after the Hyundai was indeed the fastest car on track under torrential rain all weekend! When you go there... ask any of the flaggers... they tell you all about the Hyundai driven back in March!

By the time I was 21 my licesnse in MA had been suspended for 10 years as a habitual driving offender. Mostly for street racing, racing the cops and assorted wreckless etc. offenses. We would actually pull up to the local town cop and rev up the 400 Firebird with glasspacks, give the number 1 salute and then haul ass. Rarely would they catch up but you can't outrun a radio always.
Got married and moved to NJ and got a new license which remained clean for 19 years other than 1 or 2 speeding tickets. The big difference was after I got out of college and got married I could afford to do track events. Once on the track I stopped all the BS on the street.
My only recent problem was about a month ago I was driving to Pocono to watch the PRO IT race since my car wasn't ready. I got pulled over after doing about 100 mph for waht had to be 10 miles or more on empy highway. Here's how it went with the state trooper:
"Did you know how fast your were going?"
"Sir, no idea but I'm having a really crappy day."
"Why is that?"
"Well, I stepped in dog crap before I got into my Porsche and didn't notice. Now I have crap all over the floor and the car stinks! Now I get pulled over - what a bumming day. Sir, here are all my credentials - really sorry - seems like the pavement here is brand new and really smooth..."
"OK - I'll be back"
Cop returns and hands me a warning - said he hoped my day improved. I thanked him a ton. What made me goof up a story about dog crap I have no idea but it worked!!!
I used to think the Sheriff of Naughtingham lived in NJ to shake down the public for $$ - now I figure these guys are OK.

Just got one last week - in the town where I live - $54 - because the frames around my tags "partially obscure" the words "New Jersey" and the "Garden State".
Want to know why New Yorkers are always grouchy and irritable? Because they found out that the light at the end of the tunnel is New Jersey....I love this state!
(I just realized, you can see it in my avatar. What a crock of BS!)

I started driving in 1964. Only one speeding ticket and that was in June 1967. Got a ticket for "exhibition of speed". I picked my brother and sister up at high school. last day of school. My brothers friend had his Dad's 1966 Chevy Impala SS396 and he decided he wanted to drag race my 409 Bel Aire. The drag strip that we used was the main street in front of the school. I won the race handily, but there was a cop up a side street that got me. The judge fined me $2 per foot for the very long strip of rubber I left on the street.
When I was in the Service and stationed in the South. I fell victim to that time honored southern tradition known as the"Yankee Trap" as my car had California plates on it. Now no one has ever associated California with the true Yankee states, but California was, in the mind of the local constabulary, a haven for hippies, pinkos, commies, war protesters, etc.. After numerous complaints from the troops, the CO called for a $2 dollar pay day. In those days we were still paid in cash and so when I went to see the quartermaster he handed me a big pile of $2 dollar bills. Within a week all of the local communities and the county in general were flooded with $2 bills at which point the CO had a meeting with the law enforcement officials, after which the records of us "trapees" were cleared of any wrong doing, real or imagined.
Got stopped in Alameda a few years ago for being about 10 mph over the limit. Cop takes my license goes back to his car and then returns and says you have the cleanest driving record I have ever seen and I don't want to be the one to mess it up, so I'm going to write for a seat belt violation.
I've only been in one accident, I got hit by a red line runner in Alexandria VA. Totaled the car, I got a mild concussion and my wife had a couple of severe contusions from the seat belt and passenger side door sill. He hit us on the drivers side front quarter.

I got my license at 18 because I didn't care too much for cars then and wasn't motivated to get a license.
I either took the bus or the "mom taxi" to college, until my mom got sick and tired of taking me and I got sick of always being late.
Lasted a whole year before I spun-out in my Audi 5000 on the highway going to class. Super rainy day and the car started hydroplaning at 55, I spun twice in rushour traffic without hitting anyone even though I crossed 3 lanes from the fast lane to the slow lane then back again to the fast lane hitting the inside barrier.
I then didn't have an incident for another 4 years.
This time I was test driving a car for a friend, who didn't know how to drive stick, and while we were out another driver yammering on his cellphone t-boned us.
Somehow I got one point for that.
The following year was my major accident which according to the official police record was caused my me turning left on a straight road. (no joke, it says that)
To this day I've never gotten a speeding ticket and I've only had one rolling stop.
