Howdy everyone, I take delivery Monday on a '92 968 coupe, black/tan with LSD, 63k miles.  Interesting to see another PV resident recently join the forum!

I've been Porsche-less for about 2 years, and can't wait to drive a car with an analog feel again.  I've never driven a trans-axle Porsche before and it will be fun to contrast how it "feels" compared to the water and air-cooled 911s I've previously owned ('89 Targa, '95 993, 2011 GTS Cab).

Since COVID (and the 110+ degree heat) has me never leaving my house anymore, I decided morning and evening drives in a 968 would be an upgrade to getting depressed watching the news.

Thanks everyone.

Delivery was not without drama....the transport driver LOST THE KEY (who knows what the real story was on this) and called me 20 miles away from my home saying it was out of the truck for another delivery, and he was going to pay some guys to help roll it onto the truck.  Luckily I had a second key that the previous owner had FedExed with title/receipts/etc., and drove out there to get it (took $200 off the delivery price).  Hopefully there is nothing complicated about making a key copy.

What a great driving experience.  I was wondering if I should have bought a car with the M030 suspension/brakes, but it's quite relaxing and easy on the body compared to my AMG daily driver...so no mods anytime soon with respect to this.

Despite chatting with the PO and the shop that performed the PPI, the interior wasn't nearly up to the standard represented, and there is an obvious windshield rock chip right in front of the driver position...shame on me I guess for not insisting on a FaceTime detailed walk-around.  I guess I now have some fun projects ahead of me to replace the carpets and repair some of the leather.

I personally replaced the carpet set on my '95 993, and that was a nightmare because of the ridiculous type of glue (Satan's snot) holding things down...I imagine this was the case for 968 carpets as well.

Sorry, but you will be removing "Satan's Snot"...(I never heard that term, LOL!)

"Relaxing, easy on the body" ..... I entirely agree.  I've had a few "lounge lizard" cars ... Cherokee/RangeRover etc with big bulky seats which I thought were comfortable drives, but the 968 beats the lot.  The miles just roll away!

Think will struggle to get carpets, most are now NLA, and the glue is horrendous stuff

The seats are Recaro which goes some way to explain the comfort, and M030 would do nothing to enhance the ride, and there are better options today, the standard brakes are more than adequate if they have been fully rebuilt and the plate lift issues resolved
