Hi from Clarks Summit, PA
#1

Greetings from North Eastern PA, I have a '96 968, midnight blue metallic coupe with a classic grey interior, cloth Porsche script. This is an early production car(#66) off the line. Recessed hood badge/ squared off 968 script. I have owned it since spring of '96 when it was turned back to the dealer in Harrisburg off of lease return. Originally sold out of Stoddard in Ohio. I never had enough nerve to run a car fax but it currently has just under 68K miles and runs like a top. Has an RS-Barn chip and exhaust tip, some cosmetic brushed aluminum bits on the 6 speed stick and visor holders, updated glove box catch(eventually they all wear out). Replaced the dreaded sunroof gear at least twice(who hasn't). Other than that still brings a smile when I hit the gas. Big improvement over my '86 na 944(nothin' like a hundred more horses to put your butt back in the seat) still thinking about a supercharger but don't have an idea on how good they are/easy to install/ reliable/ etc. This is the main reason I finally joined the forum to find out what others know!

Welcome!

I'm confused, as I thought only the early '92's had the recessed hood badge and squared script.

Your's is a '96, or have you owned it since '96 and it's really a '92?

Welcome Kaneway, I am just down the road from you in Bear Creek. My granddaughter who calls my car gramps hot rod lives in Clark's Summit. If you feel like getting together let me know. Before the snow flies of course!

Keep an eye out for events when the weather breaks. Usually at least one or 2 meets come up in the Spring.

Welcome,

RAP,

I tend to get that question a lot,as far as I know I am not directly related to the transport folks, nice people I'm told. My kids go to school with some of the Kane trucking relations. I am originally from Lancaster(where there were almost no Kane's)moving up this way 14 years ago and all of a sudden, I'm asked about transport and even district magistrate relations in Wilkes-Barre area. Thanks for asking!

94 silvercab,

Looking forward to the spring events, I've been in PCA since '92 and only missed last years Hershey swap meet(Easter holiday out of town) since joining. My wife thinks I really didn't need the official Swap met T-shirt for 2011 since I seem to collect them. I told her I really needed to stand in the rain and look at piles of stuff. I made up for it anyway since I was in Florida and just "happened" to find time to go over to Brumo's and get one of their T-shirts. Salesman said I missed Hurley Haywood by 15 minutes, still got to see some nice cars. Didn't get into their big historic display due to time but there's always next year! Anyway, I will keep checking for local events. Thanks for the welcome!

Hershy was my first swap meet and besides the heavy rain in pea soup fog going down and what I was told was a sparse crowd it was interesting. Yes it would have been to easy a name connection, but I thought I would ask! The magistrate is a good guy by the way. If you would like, email me and perhaps we can hook up or chat some time.

My 968 came from Wilkes-Barre area, via upstate NY, and now to me! Must have been a bunch of 968 lovers out there back in the day. The story goes that mine was owned by an attorney that worked for the IRS and based in Wilkes_Barre... does the IRS have offices there?

In any case, welcome aboard! Make 2012 a super 968 year!!!
