Hi all
We've just purchased a white tiptronic 92 Cabriolet, having tried for five years to find one.
You may know that there are not many 968 cabriolet's in Australia, and they are very rarely are seen for sale.
Especially as we live in Perth, which is the worlds most remote city.
This one belonged to a close friend here, and finally he decided to sell after my gentle nudging over time.
We are very happy to have it at home, where it will be Wendy's car.
We are repeat offenders in the Porsche world, with a black 2004 996 GT3, and a white 1974 3.0 911 RS (which you guys in the states will know as IROC cars) also in the shed.
We've owned in the past ten years (in order) a 1992 964RS, a 1973 RS, a 993 Carrera 2S, a 993 Turbo, 1998 Carrera 2, and a 1996 RSCS, so we've been very lucky with our Porsche experience.
They have all been wonderful cars, some more than others, but all special.
I have to say though, that we are as happy about the cabriolet as any of them.
It is a very stylish car indeed, and its going to be fun learning about 968's as we go.
I only buy manual Porsches for my own use, and in this case we needed the tiptronic for Wendy.
Its certainly got long legs, being well over-geared for our road rules here.
Nonetheless, she has a smile a mile wide every time she gets home (which isn't often all of a sudden).
We've bought this one as a keeper, and look forward to the journey with you all.
Regards
Simon and Wendy
