Hello from Somerset, New Jersey
#1

Hi All,

Happy to be a part of this community. I have a 1994 midnight blue 968 coupe with 63K miles. This is my first 968 (as well as my first Porsche). I've always been a fan of the 968 ever since they were introduced so glad that I finally have one now.

Sounds like a great car, esp with that mileage. If you haven't, you should join the Northern New Jersey Porsche club: tons of activities and lots of great people. The monthly meeting for May is this Wednesday and the speaker is David Donohue: try to check it out, you don't have to be a member to show up and you can get all of the membership info there. I will be there with my 944S2; my new (to me) 968 was supposed to arrive today from SF but the transporter broke down

Meeting is at the Villa in Mountain Lakes (route 46); worth the trip for David.

PM me for more info

Yes, I'm already a member of the Northern New Jersey PCA. Haven't been to any events yet, but hope to soon. Probably won't make this months meeting but will try for next time. I love the 968 but still getting used to its eccentricities. Having been used to a "normal" every day car for a long time, it still freaks me out watching that temp gauge to up and down all the time

Welcome! When doing a search for that temp gauge, always use the 'advanced search' (little wheel - top right corner).

Enjoy the forum!

Welcome, but that seems strange that your temp gauge goes up and down enough to freak you out. Mine stays pretty solid on the first line.

The good news is that it is probably your gauge and not your cooling system...tap on the gage cluster and see if it falls into line. I'm sure there is a fix, I just tap

Ha, I'll try the tap technique and see if that works but I doubt it's that simple. My temp gauge goes to the last white line (without running the air conditioner) on a summer day and stays slightly above the middle in the winter so I don't think it's a gauge issue. Anyway, will look around the forum and see what the issue could be.
