Hello from N.Fla.
#1

Didn't know there was a 968 forum until dlearl sent a link tonight, nice to see. I've had a few Pcars over the last 5 decades, 356's, 911's, and several  factory race cars. Currently have a 944S2 coupe and 968 cab and am looking forward to reading some of the technical discussions.

Thanks guys, looks like a great place to hang out in addition to learning good stuff about the cars. I started fooling around with 356's and 911's about a week after college in the early 70's and it's been downhill ever since : ) Not really, altho almost a lifelong passion including a Porsche shop in the 70's when the racing addition bit and the supporting of an RSR. After a couple 12 Hours the reality that pro level racing wasn't in the cards led to almost 30 years of vintage racing in a couple prototypes and several 911's. It was a fun ride but now just enjoy Sunday afternoon backroad jaunts and weekend runs to the mountains with the GF. Here's a pic of the 968 and another favorite.

Biil,

Obviously you have good taste in cars.  Those 987 are incredible cars.  I also have an  987 based RS60.  I wish they offered the RS60 in white.  So much easier to maintain the paint than the silver.

Again, thanks guys. snova I've always liked GP white on Porsches but have a thing for red interiors too, the RS60 would be a dream car for me. Had a few white 356's and 911's over the years (one a white/red 67S, wish I could get that little guy back). Here's a couple race cars I used to have, sorry about the lousy pics.

I really don't know that much about 944's and 968's, they're a completely different animal, but I do enjoy driving them, Dlearl and I have been yakking in the Porsche thread on ADVrider for years and he's helped me with a few things but the more the better, I've already learned stuff in the last few days.

When I picked up the white Boxster a couple years ago it was dark when I got back in town, I'd glance in the mirror and think for a second it was the 908 back there, wishful thinking of course but it is reminiscent at times.

I always spent a lot of time cleaning the tire streaks off my white 968 after an event and thought it a tough color to make pop. Now I have a yellow color and the tire streaks are still a pain. Color has depth though. Color is personal I suppose. Still have the other white 968 sitting idly in storage.

Here's something some of you may find interesting, having known, raced with, and worked with most of folks at Brumos Porsche/MB for decades I had access to some of the 'back rooms'. One day their crew chief left me alone in the museum so I snapped a few pics with my phone. This wasn't long before they moved the collection to a new much larger building they've been working on for some time. If ever in Jax it's highly recommended.
