Hello From Mukilteo, WA
#1

Hello All,

I just registered.

I have a 1993 white 968 tiptronic coupe that is mostly a garage queen, but does get out on those rare non-liquid sunshiny days in western WA. The odometer just turned over 100K and I have owned it for ~ 5 years. I got the car out of the Denver, CO area, but from the maintenance records I have, it started out in Florida.

Initially after a full inspection by a Denver area Porsche dealer, I purchase the car and had the following maintenance done:

replaced brakes, rotors, sunroof plastic gears, new under engine missing cover, cracked turn signal lens and antenna. Since I have owned it I have replaced the radiator, one headlight, and fixed an intermittent problem where the engine would suddenly die (usually in freeway rush hour traffic) and then a few moments later start right up. The problem turned out to be and electrical plug on one side of the engine which had apparently over the years worn through the rubber and the metal connector mounting would temporarily short out the iginition. Fixed temporarilly with electrical tape to limp home until a new connector was acquired and installed.

I look forward to being able to access the various areas of the forum and gain more information about my vehicle and 968's in general. Like many I am interested in being abe to do some repairs on my own when required as well as maintenance as needed.

Have a good day,

Radio968

Hi and welcome!

Do you know when your timing and balance belts were last replaced? Waiting too long (more than 3 to 5 years, regardless of miles put on the car) can be hazardous to your wallet. ;0)
