Hello from Minnesota
#1

I'm just beginning this process and would like to say hi from St Cloud, Minnesota. I do not currently have a 968, but I'm looking for one. I do have a 914 that I purchased new in 1973 and I've been a member of PCA for over 30 years.

Welcome.

A one owner 914. That's a nice item to have on your resume.

I think you'll love adding the 968 to your collection. The power and balance IMO is very good. Were you looking to get a coupe or a cab?

My preference would be a coupe (in a past life I also had an '87 944), but who knows, my wife may say okay to a cab. I would also like tiptronic so that may narrow the field somewhat, but again that enables my wife to participate a lot more. I'm looking forward to enjoying this site a great deal. The brief time I've been able to look around looks very interesting and enthusiastic.

I admire your view of getting your wife in on the fun. I'm too selfish for that. If she wants to drive it she is more then welcome but she better know how to use that clutch.

Oh, and thats not your PC. our quotes are kinda turned off.

Welcome to the forum from someone living in the upcoming Winter Olympics Zone!
I think it's great that you are taking your wife into consideration with regrads to a possible 968 purchase. I used the line "marriage enrichment tool" to convince my wife that I (we!) should get a PORSCHE. When I was looking at 928's she was not that "sold" on the idea, but when she saw the 968 cabrilolet, she was "sold". I am glad I involved her, because I ended up with a 968, which has turned out to be a much better fit for us. I still got the 6-speed, but she has a manual 5-speed Honda CRV, so that is not an issue.
Happy searching for your 968 and most definetly "pick the brains" of some of the "enthusiasts" in this forum, because they will help you with a ton of unselfish advice!

Welcome! I should be heading up your way this summer. Moving the fam to River Falls or Hudson, WI. Nice that I could possibly see a 968 while I'm in withdrawal...

Thank you for the welcome. I will have to mention to my wife that there are cabs alive and well in one of the 'less warm' climates than even here. If I can convince her it's okay then I only need to worry about finding one with tiptronic. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't enjoy the clutch. It will be a fun process.

Thanks for the welcome. St Cloud is less than 2 hours northwest of Hudson and right on 94. A get together would be fun. If I haven't found a 968 by then, I would still have the 914.
