Hi,

My name is Mike I am 27 and I hail from Eastern Washington State. Thought I would join this forum to research the in's and out's of the 968. I will be looking hard in the next year to purchase one and I want to make sure I get the best for my money. I am a avid autocrosser and currently Co-Drive a 05 Sport/Track Elise, and daily drive a 95 Miata. My dad used to have a late 85 944 and I loved it; But I have always gravitated to the more up to date styling and power of the 968. I just got a new job that will give me the means to own one of these cars the rite way. So let the research begin.

Thanks
Mike

Welcome aboard. Hope you find a great car. A 968 will seem so big inside compared to your Miata.

Welcome!

The 968 is great to drive! You'll have lots of fun with it as soon as you find a good one.
One word of advise, be very careful when looking for a 968, as you can get a great deal paying a bit more for a good one or a very bad deal paying a bit less for a pile of problems...

I was looking initially for a good 944 S2 or even the Turbo, but what i found were mostly very used ones and badly treated cars (also lots of different owners along their lifespan).
I was lucky to find a mint 968 that used to belong to a friend of a friend that takes absolute care for all his cars. I know i was very lucky, but if i had decided too fast, i would have just burned money and next i would burn my head with problems. So be careful. A good 968 will give you endless moments of fun and driving pleasure.

You have been warned...
