Hello from Berkeley, CA
#1

Hi,

My name is Bob Kelly, from Berkeley California.  I own a 92 Porsche 968 Cab.  I also have a 67 Porsche 912 that I have been restoring.  I got the 968 because the 912 is not a long distance road trip car anymore.  The 968 is great, and a much different car from the 912.  When I bought the 968, in the second week of ownership i drove it from NYC to Berkeley, with side trips about 5,000 miles in 11 days.

Bob

Thanks for the welcoming.  Bob is a common name if you're over 60.  The 67 Porsche does need new paint, I was thinking returning to the original color of Aga Blue, but since I'm in Berkeley, perhaps tie dye is more appropriate.

Bob:

Welcome to the club and 968 land! My '93 cab and I live just up the hill from you, near the Steam Trains in Tilden Park. Let me know if you need any local info, like a good mechanic, etc. Maybe we can put together a caravan to Tahoe this summer. We have another member who lives in Alameda.

To Ibpesq (Bill),

Yes we do live near, I'm in the Elmwood area of Berkeley.  A July caravan to Tahoe sounds great.  Thanks for the offer of local info.  I'm probably going to rebuild the power steering pump and rack soon, it is leaking quite a lot, and I need to correct some minor electrical issues.  These I will do myself if I can find the time between rain storms, as I am also building a car port.  These 100+ year old houses did not come with a garage.

Neither did the 60+ year old ranch house we moved into last year. I put up a ShedLogic Garage-in-a-box for my '58 Triumph TR3.
