Hello from Iowa
#1

Hello to the 968 forum.

I'm an old-time Porsche lover - my first was a 35A sunroof coupe that I bought in California when I was a graduate student -- in1964. I've owned 7 of them over the years - and currently have an immaculate 1964 356C ("Ruby") and a 1989 944S2 that is my all-season daily driver.

The 944S2 is getting long in the tooth - and one-by-one everything electrical is failing.

So, here I am looking at 968s - because I look forward to replacing the 1989 944S2 with a red 968 coupe .....

That's my short story.

Can I stay on the list ????

Dick

Welcome. Please don't say your electrical is failing one by one. My other car IS a 1989 S2!

All that I can say is: "Just wait."

The latest is a long rope that I use to release the rear hatch/window. I replaced the motor back there - but it still refuses to work. My ABS is out, I can't see my dash at night, and the water temperature indicator hugs the bottom peg. I've invested thousands in the A/C, brakes, a clutch, suspension parts, and ignition stuff in the past 2 years. The car is still fun to drive - at 156,000 miles - but it will one day soon just give up.

I like the 944/968 for the rear hatch. I own a photo studio, and I carry lots of equipment and deliver prints out of the 944 - and it gets better mileage than my Dodge Ram 1500 4X4.

A 911 would not work for my work ....

That's a lot of electrical problems - are your ground points giving up the ghost?
