Hello Fellow 968'ers!! From Washington Crossing, PA
#1

Hello all! This is my first post here.. I had the privilege meeting some of you all at the Hershey Porsche swap meet. I was in awe to actually see more than 3 968's in one place!! I do believe there were at least 17 (not including the parking area), and they were some of the prettiest ladies in the show! That was my first Porsche swap meet, but definitely not my last. I was in disbelief of the actual 'sea' of Porsche's that I found myself in the middle of. Out came the camera, and I had to take pictures of every isle, just to prove to others that this endless vision of Porsche's really did occur! Not only were the Germans showing such a presence at Hershey, the town before (sorry, I can't remember the name) held a Volkswagen event similar to the swap meet, and again, a sea of VW's! Though there appeared to be ALLOT more rust present!
I am also privileged to have the famous Sir Peter Fitzpatrick (RS Barn) as my mechanic and financial advisor concerning my 968 (rumor has it the Queen will be Knighting Pete soon). Pete tells me just to deposit 50% of my pay to their account, and all will be well.. Actually, as most know, Pete is a stand up individual, has always steered me in the right direction, and is honest without question. Oh, I own a 1994 coupe, with the rare color of Raven..(black). I hope to have fun with you all, and assist when asked for help, and also quiet when I don't have a clue on an answer.. I will attend events that I can open a time slot for, as I have mostly required time eater responsibilities, IE; work, folks, work, home, work, work, Porsche, RS Barn, Lots of Work now, Kawasaki Concours (2nd love), home, work.. Pretty much the same as most, but getting caught up with your little world blinds you from other worlds.. Boy, I gotta get out more...
Thanks for 'listening'!

Hey Jim,

Are you the Black 968 I've been ghosting all over Yardley? I can never seem to get you to slow down to chat. I too, am fortunate enough to live close enough to RS Barn to push my car in (in the unlikely event it was ever to stop running in the first place).

I wish you had posted sooner, we had a small gathering this weekend at the New Hope Auto Show and it would have been fun to include you.

Hope we will meet soon,

Jay

Hi Jay, I can't honestly answer if I'm the one, but I've not witnessed another black coupe in the area unless it was at Pete's garage.. I had talked to a couple in a '95 green coupe (very sweet ride) on main st. in New Hope on Saturday afternoon, and they mentioned the meet south of the auto show with the drive in at 9:00am. I, unfortunatly was unable to attend due to family needs. With my work position, I am blessed with working 2 weekends a month, and most activities seem to fall on those weekends. Though I was able to attend the wine tour, which was fun.. But if you really want to catch me, that longer skinny black pedal to the right of the brake pedal?? Push it... Just one point, I'm driving a Polar Silver Cab (See screen name), which as everyone knows is the fastest color, and the next time I see you I will "push the pedal on the right" and show you what RS Barn can do for you !

Looking forward to it...

Jay

Thanks for the welcome! Jay, does RS Barn have the hood ornaments that are on your cab in stock??? I'd sure like to get a pair!
Cosimo, I too am sorry that I wasn't able to attend. A distant cousin's son arrived to the states from Ireland, and I had him for the day that we briefly met. I was resposible on getting him to his next destination, so, until next time..

Hood ornaments are an extremely expensive (and temporary) option, not available through RSB...

One is currently in France studying journalism, the other is a model/actress/producer in NYC...they thought it would be fun to drape themselves over my car in furs and bikinis, who was I to argue??? The photoshop work was done by the one on the left's Dad, so I'm not in danger of being shot.

Funniest experience was when I took them both to West Coast video in my 968 and they rushed past the pimply faced cashier and asked if we could rent American Beauty...AGAIN! Priceless.

Regards,

Jay
