Hi all,

I'm the new owner of a 1992 Silver/Black Coupe with Tiptronic transmission and with 48,000km, just imported from Japan. Love it!

Welcome from Canning, NS. I have two 1992s - a 6-speed coupe and a tiptronic cab. You will like this site a there is a lot of expertise to tap into. Is your car RHD?

Welcome !

Lots of new Canadian owners...I'd love to have an event one of these days in Montreal, or Toronto...that would be cool.

Regards,

Jay

A big welcome from the West Coast!
I have plans of being in the Edmonton area sometime in July (not with my 968) and would love to meet up.
You may want to consider the PCA Escape 2010 at Sun Peaks in September (www.pcaescape2010.com). It would be nice to have other 968 owners show up for the event.

Does that mean you have some strange non 17 digit VIN being a Japanese spec car? I ran into that problem getting insurance on my Skyline.

Thanks for the welcome and I'll respond to a few questions. I have not been to Japan, I saw the car on an import broker's website in Calgary (Zen Autoworks), liked the look of it and told Zen to import it for me. It is LHD and has a regular 17 digit VIN which the insurance company eventually accepted. Only problem is that all the paperwork (service history, driver's manual, etc.) is in Japanese! And if anyone is in this neighbourhood, feel free to stop by.

Welcome Pop glad you joined the community. Regarding the Japanese documentation, you can have it translated into English very easily. In February, I seriously looked at a 928GTS from Vancouver that was imported from japan 2 years earlier. Spoke a number of times with the Owner; he sent me the full dealer documentation that he had translated along with a recent 15 page report from Frank Allers Motorsport in Vancouver - the car was a verified gem. I lost the car - it sold during the Olympics before i could fly out there! Anyways, hope you enjoy the car. This is a great site with terrific members and great info.
Paul
