Hello from Dorset in the UK
#1

Just joined the forum so a note To say hello to all

I took the plunge on a 1993 Slate Grey Tip Coupe during lockdown and I am gradually working my way through the car to make it my day to day ride

I have had a number of Porsches over the past 20 years and I am currently running the 968, a 996 Cab and a Cayenne albeit the Cayenne is going up for sale soon.

I am also a member of the 968UK forum which has proved invaluable since having the car over the past few weeks

Hi Scott

Is the gearbox now a happy puppy

Nice to see you on here, the over pond owners have far more tip cars than the uk, so you should get plenty of help on here

Yes the gearbox hasn’t missed a beat since you suggested cleaning then grounds

Its having the the front discs and pads, front wheel bearings, rear heat shield being replaced tomorrow plus we are taking off the exhaust to finally sort the rattle.

i also adjusted the balance belt yesterday as it started to whine a little after the belts, rollers and water pump refresh a few weeks back and now all good.

I read the history in detail this afternoon and hidden behind another invoice was an OPC invoice showing a camshaft X 2 and chain replacement 40k miles ago so that was a pleasant surprise...with my recent belt change it’s looks like it’s had 5 belt and roller changes in its 196k mile life and three water pumps...full Porsche history up to 145k with no expense spared

lots of other stuff too

Thinking about suspension next !
