Hello from Dallas/Fort Worth
#1

First time to post. My car is a 95 968 cab, black with champagne leather, manual trans. Picked it up in Arizona a couple of weeks ago and have been steadily piddling with it since. It's in good shape with only 45k miles (only had 44k until I picked it up in Phoenix and drove it home). Have added new tires and wheels, new hood struts, K&N air filter, windshield wiper blades, and a new Pioneer head unit. Still needs a few things but my wife is getting a little fussy about all the $ I'm spending.

I also have a 2012 Targa 4 S, dark blue with red interior. I've put wheels on it, and have a carbon fiber intake and exhaust X pipe ordered, but afraid to do too much lest I invalidate the warranty. No such worries with the 968.

Looking forward to joining in on discussions and picking everyone's brains on 968 stuff.

Welcome,

1) Never, never total all of your receipts.

2) All automotive expenses are "standard maintenace" when reported to your spouse. (e.g. my differential was open, therefore it needed to be replaced)

Enjoy your new 968,

Jay

Manley, I'm afraid your wife's 'fussyness' will only grow over the years to come. A new seal here, a new brakeline there and, off course, a bunch of unnecessary and expensive upgrades/goodies/mods...

Great fun off course!

Welcome and good luck ;-)

Why may I ask do you discuss your car with your wife? Remember she is a woman and doesn't understand manly stuff like cars! Don't back her into a corner and make her try to understand things she knows nothing about. Take her out to dinner and tell her how much you love her. Buy her a watch so she knows what time it is now with dst!

Even better: my wife DOESN'T want to hear it, no more than I want to hear her talk about the new purse she bought. How much? My god woman, I could have bought a new car battery with that kind of money! Lol
