Hello to you all,



I own a plain-vanilla manual gearbox (stick-shift) dark blue cabrio, manufactured in 1994. I bought it a few years ago for my wife (I jokingly tell her that she's - almost - the fastest lady in the Kingdom, second only to Vanina Ickx). Some time after my purchase I caught the 968 bug and suddenly needed to know everything there is to know, started looking for a really talented repair shop, and embarked on rejuvenating the old girl (the 968). Recent work has successfully restored key driving characteristics but it has been a long road - botched repairs, wasted parts. Competent mechanics are few and far between, and even Porsche dealers have since long lost their 968-capable people.

Driving the 968 - not yet daily, though - is to me an experience of uniqueness and of sheer fun.

Welcome! Same problem here, not easy to find a good mechanic near by, so I do almost all repairs and maintenance myself.



You will find there's tons of info around here. More than a few members who can handle a wrench here and happy to help in case of trouble.

Tanks to Rap and Bulti for the friendly welcome. I discovered this forum because I was looking for info on the OBD of my car. I found a great post here and thought this was the sign of a lively community of real fans that I wanted to talk to. But I'll move my OBD questions to the appropriate topic - I'm getting off-topic now.
