Hello from another newbie!!!
#21

My wife was happy that I bought another Cabriolet because she loved the little S2 Cab we had. It took me a while to find a car but it didn't take as long to find this one as it did when I was looking for the S2. I have a set of rimes and tires that have about 300 miles on them that was on my S2, 19x9's & 19x10's. I need to find out the right way to pull the airbags. I have a Club Sport steering wheel that was on my S2. What I did when I installed it was pull the wires from the passenger side bags and installed the Club Sport wheel. Then I pulled the dash apart and unplugged the air bag light. It worked but I would really like to just pull the whole system out of the new ride. Does anyone know where to buy the socket to take of the safety nuts on the mount for the airbag controller?

I was reading through the whole post and it sounds like I have bought 2 cars. Just to set things straight. That first car that I said I bought I was going to buy it. I had a deposit down and it was mine. Well, something about that car just didn't seem right and I was real skeptical. I spoke with the guy that did the PPI and that was a real shakey conversation. So I backed out and lost half of my deposit for which that was no big deal. That car might have been a great ride but when you don't feel good about something it's best to cut your loses and run. That car did finally sell and I hope the new owner has the best of luck with it. I am extremely happy with what I just bought. I was excited to see how nice it was. I didn't bring it home because I didn't want to drive it without changing the cam chain pads. It probably would have been just fine but I would rather be safe then sorry.

Unless you know there's something wrong with them, I wouldn't worry as much about the timing *chain* (and pads) as I would the timing *belt*.

Yea, the belt's are going to be attended to ASAP. I was going to change out the pads while I was getting the belts done. There is a few things that I want to do before I start to enjoy the ride. I installed Blue LED lights for the instument cluster for which I realy liked in my S2. That will be done and while I have that apart I will change out the odometer gear. The belts on my S2 were changed out a few months before it was totaled. You talk about a waste of time! Who ever bought my car from the auction it went through they received a GREAT engine!!!
