Hello, Again

Ok fine if rude is your only answer then don’t post questions on suspension setups,

Go find your local F1 engineer and be rude to him

Think I will not bother with this forum anymore and stay my side of the Atlantic

Not sure what exactly happened here, due to edits, but Waylander, do not leave!

Yes Martin, I agree with Jay and hope you will choose to remain with the rest of us. Your work-arounds and part information is extremely valuable and you contribute to this community. Incivility is all the rage these days, and I for one would hate to see the entire forum suffer because of the response of a single member.

I always suspected elitism and snobbery were not limited to 911.

I have reread these postings several times and I don't see rude. I see an honest answer. Opinions are fine but they are just that. Disagreeing with an opinion or not wanting to engage in opinion exchanges is neither rude nor certainly not snobbery. I don't want to see anyone leave over what might be characterized as misunderstandings cultural or not. I often don't respond to posts upon reflection. This doesn't make me rude or a snob. If I want to be rude or a snob this can be easily accomplished without misunderstandings. I try my best to be neither. My banter with ds is just personal as is his with me.

I never asked for advice to troubleshoot my oversteer - I was just comparing the set-up of my car with the O.P.'s and mentioned that I'm still working on sorting out an issue.  As I said in post 16, I'm sorry I brought it up, after which I pointed out that the complexity of this issue makes it impossible to troubleshoot over the internet.  But Waylander kept making ridiculous suggestions, even after I made the point that I wasn't looking for help.  I'll never again bring up an issue I'm dealing with on my car, unless I'm explicitly asking for help from members of the forum.  Maybe just mentioning my oversteer implied that I was looking for advice - I'm sorry I gave that impression.  There's no easy answer here - forums are meant to stimulate conversation, which sometimes means getting unwelcome advice from people who obviously have no clue what they're talking about.  What got under my skin was that he kept it up, even after I thought I had made it clear that I was working with someone on my issue, and didn't need any additional "help."
