New to the forum and owner of a signal green 968
#1

Hello there.
I'm just popping in to say that I hope I can both learn and share information about my 968 with you guys here.

I'm currently living in Oslo, Norway and did recently stumble upon a 1993 signal green 968 coupé which I had to buy.
It's an imported car from Japan with only 42000 miles on it. Black leather interior and rare 17" Strosek rims. I love it!

I'll post some pictures when I figure out how to use the forum properly.

Regards Tor.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Allright. So in order to post pics I have to write some more.

I'm also having some trouble with opening other peoples pictures and links to pdf's and stuff. I guess I just have to be a little patient and write some more posts first.

Anyways. I'm installing M030 sway bars today. It needs a little stiffening.

Future plans are to install a front splitter, try out a ProMax chip (any experiences with it?), get some Cup 1 wheels, and fit some black Pagid pads +++.

Hope to get full access to the forum soon.

welcome welcome - yes, a few posts and you will have access to everything

do some surfing around here - you will find lots of thoughts and experiences with just about everything, including testing results of that chip and others that did better, shots of the C2 Turbo wheels (the ones you called Cup1) and shots of the lighter 993 Cup wheels (what some call Cup 2)

check out the tutorial for a "map" of where things are on the site

Welcome Tor. Is this your first Porsche?

I figure throwing out that question gets you one step closer to full privileges It's a selfish act because I really just wanna see that pic.

Hi again.

This is not my first Porsche. I've owned a alpine white 1986 944 NA since 2002. But after seven years and almost 50.000 miles in it I decided the time had come to move on up the ladder.

Since I love the way the 944 handled I knew I didn't want to loose that feeling when going through the curves.
So when the 968 appeared on the marked I sold the 944 and bought the 968 in just under a couple of weeks.

This car has got everything I missed in the 944; AC, ABS, air bags, leather interior, six speed gearbox, more punch and so on.

The sway bars are now installed with Tarett Engineering drop-links in the rear. Didn't quite get the pre-load settings right, but close enough. (Tricky to adjust this when the car is lowered on to its wheels).

flash, What kind of chip beat the ProMax one? I'll make a search when I get the permition...

Not much to look at though if you don't speak Norwegian.

Not yet - but I'm on a Norwegian payroll

Any idea how I can calculate the tax I've to pay on my Porsche when I want to have it on Norwegian plates ?
Is there a 'legal' option to drive it on Dutch plates for a while, that you know about ?

Here's a link to the Norwegian customs import calculator for motor vehicles: http://www.toll.no/templates_TAD/Registrat...;epslanguage=NO

It should provide you with all the info you need. Top right corner for English. When I taxed in my car from Japan it cost me about 100.000 NOK ro around 11.000 €. It is also a 1993 model. So it's bound to be something like that for you as well.

And yeah... It's expensive! I know.

I don't know how long you can drive legal on foreign plates. But I can ask around and try to find out.
