Hi, my name is John from Carmel, Indiana. I have a Black 1983 968 Cabriolet with only about 46,000 actual miles that is (unfortunately) sitting in my garage just now. I started having what I thought were clutch problems about six months back. As it turned out, the clutch was fine. But, the firewall had cracked. I drove it for a few months that way until it finally became so bad that I couldn't shift gears. The mechanic said that the repair would probably be in excess of $2,500. The economy being what it is, I decided just to let it sit for a while. I've really missed the convertible this summer. But, what the heck, at least I've slowed down the wear and tear.
