Hello all. I am a new member (actually a returning one who switched jobs recently and no longer has access to old registration as it's been a while since I last posted). I own a beautiful 1995 968 Cabriolet that is red with a tan interior that I've owned since April 2007. I live in Mountain View, CA.

Welcome!

It takes a couple of posts to have full access to the site, but you have cleared most of the hurdles <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> .

Lots of members in CA, so keep checking your local events page.

Regards,

Jay

Thanks to the warm welcome. The only bummer for me is that I'm (very, very regretfully) looking to sell my 968. So I'll be lurking and posting over the next few days until I figure out where it fits in the market.

On the former name, I honestly dont recall (it'd been about 2-3 years since I last posted), but it was something similar.

On the car..... It's a 6sp manual Guards Red (Or Indian Red.... depending on which color list you're looking at... basically traditional Porsche red) with a cashmere interior. It's in great shape. I bought it with 52K miles on it in April of 2007, and it currently has 76K miles. Its been garaged both at home and at work since I've owned it (part of the reason for selling is that I have a new job which does not have a garage, and I'm not about to park a red car outside all day). Ironically, its in better shape now than when I bought it. It has a new convertible cover, and had "the part" replaced in the top. Its had all of its regular maintenance (but I'm going to have to get copies of some of the work done into the file). I didn't do any mods to the car since I owned it, other than getting the C2 Turbo (C2 Turbo (Cup 1)) 17" allows on it back in 2007 (did it right as well, with genuine OE Porsche wheels with the proper 7.5" wide fronts, as opposed to the 911's 7 inch wide C2 Turbo (C2 Turbo (Cup 1)) fronts). I still have the original 16" C2 Turbo (C2 Turbo (Cup 1)) wheels that will go with the car. All work was done at Modderman in Mountain View (an awesome (!!) shop to have this car worked on... they know 944s and 968s, and any manner of Porsche, inside and out). The wheels were prepped/refinished by Wiedmann's wheels (a famous, and very backlogged, Porsche wheel refinisher in CA). I'll get some pics up when I higher level priviledges on the forum.

That's funny.... there's an auto-correct built into the system on the wheel references in my prior post. To be clear, although my car was a 1995, I did not like the 17" option wheels for the 94-95 968, but instead went with a goal of getting the 17" wheel option for the 92-93 968 (which I think looks better).

your previous screen name was S4lawyer - if you want to use that name, and delete this one, you can do that - if you don't remember your password, it can be reset, and then you can go in and change it at your convenience - there is a possibility of merging them too - please send an email to the Admin with your desire

the site does indeed autocorrect a few things, in an attempt to use correct terminology on some things that can be confusing - thank you for using the correct names

i like both of the 17" options, but for different reasons, and prefer a different wheel depending on different colors

i look forward to seeing the car and meeting you
