This is the first winter I have owned my 968 and I have a question about the fan controls. When I turn the fan speed to 0 I still get a small amount of ventilation coming through. With my old car I could fix this by turning it on to recirculate, but that does not seem to help here. So I find myself constantly adjusting the temperature b/c if I go just a little bit to warm it warms things up in a hurry, and if I turn it a little cooler it starts cooling the car off. On a day like today it is not a problem, but on a warmer day when I really don't need heat or A/C it becomes tedious. Is there anything I can do, or do I just chalk it up to the car being 15 years old?

That is what I figured. No big deal, just didn't know if anyone else had come across a better way to control it. Given how much fun I have behind the wheel every day I think it can be overlooked.

On the plus side, the 968 has one of the most effective HVAC systems I have ever had in a car. Heat comes on fast, AC works well even on sweltering southern summer days, and the windshield and rear glass clear quickly.

I wondered why the fan ran even in the "0" position. It would be OK if water didn't bypass the heater valve and roast me. In the summer, the A/C barely offsets the amount of heat.
Guess I'll go pull the heater valve out and get a replacement.
