I'd hate to be responsible for that car's tire budget...

Guess somebody found my daily boring commute interesting and filmed it, embarrassingly I just couldn't decide where I wanted to park that day, had to try out all the spots. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Actually, I just realized it's a 944.

Apart from burning up the tires the purpose of this exercise is what? Is this a competition to see who can get cited for air pollution?

What I want to know is, why has it not been set to music yet? Here's a possibility. Start the music, below, then

cue green thing. Cheers!:

That's called Gymkhana. Not sure it's really a competition so much as exhibition. Do a Youtube search on Ken Block Gymkhana and you'll see some more. It's actually harder than it looks, as any motorsport is.

i did some research and his father owns a tire shop so he gets his tires for free. And his sister owns a body shop so all the body work was free when he was practising not hitting the barrells. (lol)

I find it pretty entertaining, but not in my car.

I did that stuff in a 1968 Mercury Grand Marquis station wagon that my friends nicknamed the "Battle Wagon." That nickname stuck and my parents actually called it that. That car was easy to toss and spin, with an open diff and 390 cubic inch V8. Back to the video, very cool. I can definitely appreciate what the guy is doing, and the screeching of those particular tires is just funny to hear, especially when you cue this music then listen to the video of the green thing.

lol - our car we called the "battle wagon" was a ford country squire with a 460, and complete with the wood panels. good times.

now that i think about it, i blew a couple of differentials doing that.
