i think the part you're looking for is a glove box hinge 928.552.055.03; DCAutomotive has a used one for $20, Pelican shows them new for $49

have you checked with Jeff ( or anyone else for that matter ) at Parts Heaven in Hayward, Ca ? sure, it's rather doubtful if they have a door they'd be willing to separate that piece from it and sell it , but if the door is smashed.. the glovebox hinge on my daily driver Ford has a controlled "roll down" and doesn't violently drop like the 968 can/will. Why doesn't someone engineer a fix for the 968? Seems like a logical project.
