Has anyone had any experiance entering and racing in the 24hrs of Lemons?

I'm looking for thoughts or ideas.



Currently I'm considering entering my Audi 4k or purchasing a non-running 944.

The Audi will get destroyed so if it's your only mode of transportation, it wouldn't be the best idea.

It's kind of what the name implies - a "race" with cars with a fixed price limit (something like $500, INCLUDING all repairs and mods done to get it race ready). I'm not sure it actually goes 24 hours. Car & Driver has done articles on it. It sounds like a blast.

i have a friend entering a metro with a 900cc motorcycle engine in it - actually very quick - we ran into him when i put ayn out on the track in the M3

I'm so excited!



I have 3 drivers including myself.



Now about the Audi.



It is quickly falling apart on the inside and I can't stand that crap.



The engine is very strong for its age but the german electronics are failing one by one.



The lateset thing to fail was the power door locks. The rear doors now no longer open because the motor keeps trying to lock.



Now I know that it is currently my only mode of transportation and if I cannot buy something within the next 6 months to replace it I won't enter.



If I do enter I'll let you guys know.



It would be nice to have a fan club and it would be an excuse for a road trip. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I checked the rules and it still sounds soooooooo fun.



The main kicker I see is the requirement for 190 treadwear tires.

Thats like $300 new.
