As a guy who has put 1500 miles on an SC 968 let me just say this is the key to making the car really work for the modern world. Big middle, huge top end, a car that does not disappoint. The SC took the 968 from being the slowest car in my stable to perhaps the fastest, or at least in the game. Not likely to get the headlights sucked out by my A8 anyway.

Ya' know what would be cool to see? A well maintained 968 w/ ab mod, catback and chip, having a side by side run against the 968SC from 0 - 120ish. That would be an excellent gauge as to where the SC takes you.
I just don't get into charts the way the rest of you guys do.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

I am now both happy and sad.
A non-968forum reader may reply, "so what! get another 968 thats closer to Bob and get it done". However your 68 has had recent head work as well as all the mods mentioned to give it a little extra ummph. That will be needed as your not just running against a SC but one that's considerably lighter. So it really was the perfect show down. I mean you woud've lost but depending on how far and quick you fell behind we could gauge what would happen should we run against say a Shelby stang.
Anyhoo, when you make your way down there please pack the cam and upload it for us. Cause that's Must see TV.

Dan,
A bit OT, but why do you "shift all day at 7,000" when the power band dies after 5,700? You would be better served by shifting at 5,700 and taking advantage of the gears. Am I right on this???
JMHO,

Come come now. Design one has had its share of mishaps as well.
