German 968 Brochure
#1

A friend gave me this German 968 brochure, and I don't believe that I have seen it yet in the forum library. If this is something new that should be placed in a forum gallery or something, say so. I don't think I have access to do so. There are 12 pages in total.

I did take a look, and there is no copyright info that I could see (course it is in German...so best guess); it does say "subject to changes".

If you want, take it down, and I would be willing to email the scans to someone to see if there is any copyright info there.

(If there is interest.) Pretty cool brochure! Just let me know.

If possible, I would like a copy of the scan emailed to me.

I don't know if my limited Dutch will be good enough to find any copyright info, but it will be interesting to see and attempt to read it!

Thanks

I speak German and would be happy to check it for copyright notices. You have a PM with my email address.

Thanks for the responses and offers! Scans were emailed to Ebo to check for copyright info. If it comes out clean, I'll work with the powers that be to make it available for review. In the meantime, get your copy of Rosetta Stone German so you can learn how to read it!

astroede,

just wrapped up my Rosetta Stone course and now I speak German fluently - lol! Actually learned it many years ago during my Air Force days in Bremerhaven, Germany.

I created a 968 Library Book (about 6 inches thick) which has 968 articles, brochures, etc from USA, UK and Germany and would love to add a copy of your 968 brochure to my Library. If you are interested, I can forward a copy of the Index for your review. Thanks in advance. I always bring the 968 Library to 968 events and had it at Jay's recent event in Newtown.

Still looking for a German brochure (not the Porsche announcements, I have those) on both the Turbo RS and the Turbo S. Not sure whether Porsche ever made a brochure for these 2 rare models.

I read through the brochure and enjoyed it a lot, thanks Astroede. Also, no copyright notices in sight. Whether that fully frees us under German intellectual property regulations remains to be seen I suppose, but the chance of Porsche complaining about us making their old sales document available seems extremely remote anyway.

Never discount what Porsche AG will do. They made us change our PCA club logo last year because it resembled the Porsche crest too much. You would think that would constitute free advertising and promotion of the brand; a good thing for a manufacturer, no?

Ebo, thanks for reviewing the brochure. Glad to hear there was no copyright info.

Question for Flash or other admin is what to do now...post, forget it, or ???? Let me know. Seems like there is interest.

If we choose to post, I will get a better scan made. Something wrong with my scanner apparently, causing that white line.

Redbaron...send email.

I now have written confirmation from the relevant person in Porsche's legal department that they are ok with us posting the document. Flash, if you want to have that documented I can forward you their email. Astroede, I converted your jpg scans into a pdf document (which I will send to you) but there are a few lines missing so you may want to re-scan and prepare a proper pdf for posting. Nice addition to the library!

Ebo, awesome! Nice work. I will make a better scan and pdf the document.

Flash, how should I handle the upload, assuming you are OK with it?

yes, please send a copy of the authorization for the archive (crossing the t's and all that)

send the file to the admin address listed on the home page in the FAQ section - i can then make it the right size and upload it to the library

On the copyright topic - how about posting a parody of anything which has copyright, but it's been modified from its original version to suit the purpose of spoofing it ? ( think Weird Al Yankovic ) Ok to put something like that on the forum ? If not, please feel free go to my " What did you do for your 968 week " thread and remove my second to last post, since the editing timeline has expired for me to make that change...
